product update

Listening. Improving. Moving forward. See what’s new for October 2026

At Intuit, we're committed to building the future together, turning your feedback into the tools, intelligence, and platform capabilities that help your business succeed. QuickBooks Online is improving on two fronts at once: launching new capabilities like Intuit Intelligence, and steadily improving the everyday workflows you count on. You can read about the latest product updates on the QuickBooks blog.

This article focuses on our ongoing commitment to valued customers like you. We've listened to your feedback on matching transactions, helping to keep your books accurate, and other run-the-business needs. Here's the feedback we've addressed so far, and what's still ahead.

Reliability everywhere

A faster, more personalized homepage

Now you can customize the layout of your QuickBooks Online homepage, so you're in control of what it shows. You told us it was trying to do too much, and that the number of options felt overwhelming, so we've simplified the default view.

  • Faster load times and less layout shift. More improvements are on the way.
  • A cleaner, more personalized dashboard.
  • Resizable and reorderable widgets, including bank accounts.

Keyboard shortcuts to help you get more done

Fly through banking, reports, and the tasks you do with easy-to-use keyboard shortcuts for the tasks you repeat all day. Keep your hands on the keys and stay in your flow. Now you can get more done, work with fewer clicks and less switching between mouse and keyboard. The shortcuts cover the tasks you repeat all day and behave the same way wherever you are in QuickBooks. These improvements include:

  • Shortcuts that span banking, lists, transaction forms, and reports. They work consistently across pages, so there's nothing to relearn as you navigate.
  • Pull up the full shortcut guide anytime. Ctrl + Alt + ? on a PC or Cmd + Option + ? on a Mac.
  • The guide is printable and updated regularly. Power users always have the current list on hand.

Fewer sign-ins and interruptions

Nothing is more frustrating than being locked out of your own books. If you've run into an "account not found" error, or found yourself repeatedly verifying your identity, we heard you. We're rolling out changes that keep you securely signed in longer on the devices you trust, so you're not re-verifying every time you step away. This is especially valuable for complex workflows. And if you're ever locked out, account recovery is now more straightforward. You can verify by phone without digging up sensitive personal information to prove it's you.

A more dependable mobile app

We've made the QuickBooks mobile app more reliable, with fixes to stability, sign-ins, and the everyday tools you use, including:

  • A more stable app, with fewer unexpected sign-outs.
  • More reliable mileage tracking and receipt capture.

“The mobile app is a huge time-saver! I use it for invoices, expenses, and receipt uploads. Snapping photos and automatic categorization streamlines my bookkeeping, saving me 3 to 4 hours a week.”

— Samarica M., Owner & Founder, SASA Salon & Spa

Real customer, compensated for their time.

We also heard you, loud and clear, that pop-ups, prompts, and suggestions were showing up in the middle of your work. We're working to make them less disruptive, so they don't get in the way of the task in front of you.

Trust and accuracy in your books

Smarter, more accurate bank transaction matching

Spend less time chasing matches and more time trusting your numbers. Matching now means cleaner books with far less back-and-forth. Key updates include:

  • Match suggestions are ranked by confidence. We now show you which suggested matches are high-confidence. The most likely match surfaces first, so you're not scanning a list.
  • A loading indicator shows when matching is still working. Now "still searching" no longer looks like "no match found," which used to trigger unnecessary manual entries.
  • The search window widens the date range automatically when no nearby match is found. This reduces missed matches on delayed deposits and batched payouts.

“Recommendations for matching and classification are useful. We accept recommended classifications during the month and use the financials during the month for forecasting and monitoring.”

— Sai Akhil Pulikam, Applix Inc.

Categorization: Ongoing work to get more right, automatically

QuickBooks is in the middle of an ongoing push to make categorization less manual, with smarter re-prediction, and clearer handling of transfers and credit-card payments. Some of this is live, and some is still rolling out. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Suggestions refresh faster after you categorize a similar transaction. This is especially useful when you're moving through a batch in one sitting.
  • Clearer handling of transfers and credit-card payments. This reduces the double-counting and misclassification that tends to show up at month-end.

"The automatic categorization of bank transactions and reporting tools help me keep my income and expenses organized… saving me several hours each month."

— Laura Matadamas, LM Pro Enterprise Inc.

Reports built for how you work

QuickBooks improved modern reports across many of the top usability areas you flagged, from how reports display to how you find and export what you need. Many of these improvements are already live, with more rolling out soon, as part of our continued investment in reporting and business intelligence.

  • Everything's readable and in order. Accounts show in standard order, section names and totals display in full, and columns stay visible as you scroll, so reports look right the first time.
  • Find and filter the way you expect. You reach the view you want faster: Ctrl + F searches across localized values, the date picker offers the range you need, and sorting works the way you'd expect.
  • Exports come out clean. Trial Balance and consolidated reports keep their totals when you send them to Excel.
  • Reports open right when you need them. Management reports load quickly, and even large or all-dates reports run to completion.

Receipt capture

Receipt capture now extracts tax rates line-by-line, handles multi-currency documents, and supports bulk upload, so more fields land correctly and there's less manual fixing after the fact.

  • Amounts stay consistent and accurate when you save.
  • Forwarded receipts appear promptly and reliably.
  • Increased accuracy on captured receipts.

"I've saved countless hours using the AI tools in QuickBooks Online to scan my expense receipts so they don't need to be manually entered."

— Tom Haines, Owner, Haines Drywall LLC

Usability that adapts to your business

Contracts and pipelines, your way

Your deal pipeline is finally yours, and your contracts can keep pace with real deals, not just simple ones.

Configure your pipeline to match how you sell

  • Rename, add, reorder, or remove pipeline stages (3–10 active stages) right from the redesigned Opportunities experience in Customer Hub.
  • Assign a win probability to each stage, and watch your Kanban board show both raw and probability-weighted pipeline value, updated in real time.
  • No more forcing your sales process into a fixed five-stage flow.

Contracts built for multi-party deals

  • Contracts now support up to five signers on a single contract, not just one.
  • Choose parallel signing (everyone signs independently) or sequential signing, with drag-and-drop reordering to set who signs when.
  • See real-time, signer-level status ("3 of 5 signed") right on your dashboard, so you're not manually emailing the next person in line.

More control of role permissions as your business grows

With QuickBooks Advanced, assign granular roles for sales forms and budgets so you can delegate work to your team with confidence instead of giving everyone full access. Bigger teams and more complex businesses get exactly the level of control they need.

Built on your feedback, and we’re not done

Every improvement in this article happened because you told us what was slowing you down. The changes to matching, categorization, and the rest didn't come from a roadmap drawn up in isolation. They came from the calls, surveys, and conversations you and your accountants had with us. The more QuickBooks does for you, the more you need complete trust in the reliability and accuracy underneath it all. This is an ongoing commitment to both, release after release.

What's coming next

The tools you use every day have to be rock-solid. We're putting significant engineering effort into the everyday workflows that power your books. Getting the fundamentals right matters.

This release is a milestone, not a finish line. We're continuing to invest in all core workflows, with more improvements already in progress. We'll keep listening, prioritizing your feedback, and sharing what we ship. If there's something you'd like to see improved, your voice is still the most important input we have.
