2 SERVICE ACCOUNTS - HOW DO I MERGE FROM TRIAL TO SUBSCRIPTION AND NOT LOSE MY SETTINGS OR DATA?

Hello!

I have an issue where - 2 accounts are active for my company service.

1 is the trial version and 1 is a subscription service that I purchased with the intent of upgrading my QBDT to QBO with the Black Friday Deal.

It happened when I uploaded data from DT and it went to a trial account, rather than the subscribed one.

I need to have some assistance in walking thru either - copying the pricing from the purchased account to the trial account - or moving the data (accounting and payroll) to the subscribed setup.

Sorry if this is a bit sharp, but I have had a real problem getting my payroll settings up and tweaked and have been mis-guided by the phone support folks, so I am being super conservative here.

The latest rep has suggested i can move the data with no issues once i upgrade the subcribed acccount to adavanced.  Surely someone at intuit can just copy the pricing over to the 'trial version' and we just cancel the subscribed one.

Then DT payroll needs canceled as well, as it just renewed in the midst of all this.

Guidance appreciated!

Thanks !

Jeff

2 SERVICE ACCOUNTS - HOW DO I MERGE FROM TRIAL TO SUBSCRIPTION AND NOT LOSE MY SETTINGS OR DATA?

Thanks for getting back to us, jeff.

Let me add details and assistance in moving your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company file.

Moving the pricing from one of your subscriptions to another isn't possible since the billing agreement is specific to a company file. While there's no direct way to merge two company files, you have the option to manually import lists, or use a third-party app like Qvinci Consolidations

For now, I suggest exporting the data from your trial company subscription and manually importing them to your other company file. After exporting the data, here's how you can manually import:

  1. Sign in to your non-trial subscription.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Select Import data.

When this is resolved, let me add this reference about seeing your billing history and managing your QBO subscription: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

You're always welcome in the QuickBooks Community should you have further updates on merging your two company files. Take care.

2 SERVICE ACCOUNTS - HOW DO I MERGE FROM TRIAL TO SUBSCRIPTION AND NOT LOSE MY SETTINGS OR DATA?

Hi there, jeff.

I'm here to share information about merging QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) data.

Currently, it's not possible to merge two QBDT working company files as there is no built-in feature to transfer data from one company file to another. Therefore, you may want to explore alternative methods for exporting and importing data in QBDT.

Before doing the process, make sure to back up your company file.

You can manually import the data like lists and transactions using the Intuit Interchange Format (IIF). Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your company file as an admin.
  2. Go to the File menu and click Utilities.
  3. Select Import and select Import IIF.
  4. Select the IIF file you want to import and select Open.
  5. Select OK to confirm the import.

To know more about the process, refer to this article: Export, Import, and edit IIF files.

Moreover, you have the option to utilize CSV format for importing data files to facilitate the management of company records in QuickBooks.

You may also want to explore third-party applications that integrate with QuickBooks and enable the merging of two company files.

I'll add these articles that tackle troubleshooting general export issues in QuickBooks for future reference:

Please let me know if you have more questions about merging accounts or anything else, jeff. I'll be here to assist. Take care.

2 SERVICE ACCOUNTS - HOW DO I MERGE FROM TRIAL TO SUBSCRIPTION AND NOT LOSE MY SETTINGS OR DATA?

Thanks for that Fritz, but it is not my issue.

I moved from DT to O and 2 company id were created.  1 as a trial (30 day) and hte other as the black friday new subscription offer for migrating from 2021 DT Sunset.

My issue is - The pricing on the 'trial' is not hte same as the email offer and I am set to expire trial and get billed on both as of 12/20.

i am looking for a way to either : move the file from the trial to the offer company id, or just get that pricing copied over to where the data lives (on the other id).

The support rep I talked with last nite suggested it was not possible and I do not trust the info I am getting due to the hassles I have had with Payroll Online and them changing my accounts around from what worked just fine on DT Payroll.

Thanks for reading!
