I am using QB point of sale v19.
I can not find out which box to check so my cashiers can see item history. I have searched item history in the security rights area and nothing comes up. Then I searched history and 4 results show up but none are for giving access to item history. Which box needs to be checked so my cashiers can see item history in the item list?
Hi there, @Yo1.
It seems that you've posted the same concern twice, and my colleague has already added a response. If you haven't been notified of the new reply, here's the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/re-item-list-history-only-a...

Yes I got a response but it has nothing to do with my issue. Managers and admin can see item history so it is not missing and is not a data file issue, it's a permission issue. I can not figure out which box must be clicked for them to have access to see item history.
To be clear it is my cashiers that I need to give this permission to.
Hello, Yo1. I appreciate you for providing more details about your item history access concern in QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS). I'll share some insights about this below.
For the time being, there isn't a specific box to select that lets you provide permission to your cashiers to see item history. Instead, you can pull up an Item report and share it with them manually.
Additionally, there's a report that can provide comprehensive details about your credit and debit card transactions in POS. It's the Activity Detail report. For the complete guide on how you can pull it up, please see this article: View Activity Detail report in Point of Sale.
Should you need anything else, please let me know in the comments below. I’m more than happy to help. Wishing you the best!
I figured it out.
Apparently only the built in categories of owner, manager and associate can see the item history. The default for associate is all boxes are checked, so I thought I'd just make all of the cashiers associates then clear all the boxes and click only the boxes for the things I wanted to give them the access to. Turns out that doesn't work. It has to be done the other way. I rechecked all boxes under associate and then unchecked the boxes for the things I did not want them to have access to and it worked like a charm. They exact same boxes are checked under associate that were checked under cashier, but now they can see item history in the item list. I don't know why you have uncheck what you don't want rather than check what you do but that's how it works.
