Any planned upgrades to the new estimates feature that includes the make a deposit? The reason i ask is the old version of qb online has the locations which i need.

By locations i mean the feature that basically lets you setup different address, numbers, emails etc. Does not seem to have it https://nimb.ws/u8hdjD

Thanks for taking the time to scour our Community space for potential solutions, topclassdesigns-.

I appreciate you for providing us screenshot to better isolate the issue. If you have QuickBooks Payments, we can request a deposit on the new estimate version. Your customer can pay it directly from the estimate. Once your customer pays the deposit, QuickBooks Online (QBO) automatically converts the estimate to a partially paid invoice for you. Here's an article you can refer to for more details about requesting deposits on estimates.

Some features aren’t available right now in the new estimates and invoices. However, we’re working to get them ready. Here are some we'll add in the future:

  • Sales tax
  • Progress invoicing
  • Custom fields
  • Recurring invoices
  • Ability to save multiple templates
  • Classes
  • Billable expenses
  • Tags

We have the option to switch back to the old invoice and estimate. However, we won’t be able to use features that only come with the new estimates and invoices. For example, when creating and sending an estimate, customers won’t be able to approve or make deposits online directly from the estimate. To learn more how the new estimates and invoices in QBO can help your business, check out this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

We can only add location on the old estimate. Just customize your sales forms by location. This way, a Location field appears when creating an estimate. Just select the location by clicking the drop-down list. We can follow the steps and details in this article: Customize sales forms by location

So your saying with the old version of estimates i can enable payments? New estimates has a button right in the email to approve and pay. Old one seems like you need to manually print out and write approved.

Right now the only one i see payments on is the new version https://nimb.ws/RUJWik although it is nicer it is missing the way to change the company besides editing every line manually which makes no sense.

Maybe i was unclear but i my main question was is there a way to include locations tracking on new estimates and invoices https://nimb.ws/v0CGVA

Hello topclassdesigns-!

Thanks for the reply. Let me further explain how the new estimate works.

You can only request a deposit if you're on the new version of the estimate. Also, once your customer received the email, they can click on the Review and pay button to see and review the estimate. Then, they can click on Accept and Pay to process the deposit online. And yes, this is possible if you have QuickBooks Payments.

With regard to the location, please note that there are some features that are still not available yet to the new version of the estimate and one of those is the location. Our team is still working on improving and adding the existing features to the new version.

You'll want to send feedback to our developers so they can add the location tracking to the features that need to be added as soon as possible. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.

Please check this article to learn more about how to create and manage your estimates using the new version: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, your customized estimate template will not be applied automatically to the new version. You'll need to recreate the template. If you need detailed steps, please check this link: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

I'll grab a guide or two if you have other concerns regarding your estimates. Want to run other reports or record your transactions? Add the details below and I'll help you out.
