I am about to start filing my taxes today and I saw that Intuit is promoting Solopreneur Online that has better turbo tax exporting support. So I did the upgrade.
And I was asked to enter firm info, and it showed me a dashboard that only contains data from the last 12 months, without any receipts I attached to.
All other data including receipts scanned are lost. This is a huge breach of my trust and waste much of my time.
Please esculate this to your leadership and engineering team.
Thank you,
Sabi
I truly empathize with your situation, especially since this data is crucial for filing taxes. Please know that I value your time and want to assist you in resolving the lost transactions and receipts so you can proceed with the filing process as smoothly as possible, Sabiiii.
When transitioning from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to QuickBooks Solopreneur, it's important to note that Customers, Invoices, Trips, Products and Services, Bank Connections, Transactions, and Receipts are automatically migrated to ensure a seamless experience.
For more details about the migration process from QBSE to QB Solopreneur, including what data can't be switched over, please refer to this article: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Solopreneur.
However, if you've followed all the steps and ensure you've downloaded and saved your reports and accounting information before upgrading to QB Solopreneur, but some data are lost, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team. Thank you for your prompt response. However this does not solve the missing data issue.
As you linked in this post, this is not true for my case hence it has to be a bug. Please esculate to your tech team as I saw a couple of other posts with the similar concerns.

Here is the response I got from the specialist who is helping me:
Upon checking here on your account, your subscription is from QuickBooks Self-Employed and you have upgraded it to QuickBooks Solopreneur and I have reached to our product engineers if we have an on going issue right now for the receipt not showing when you upgraded your account to QuickBooks Solopreneur. They mentioned that they do the some issues right now on that feature and they are still working to get this fix as soon as possible. Is it okay with you if I will include your name as one of the affected customer and so that you will be able to get an email update from our product engineers once the issue get resolve?
Based on the above, I think:
Intuit should stop letting customer upgrading because the solopreneur experience is broken.
Intuit should also allow user to go back to the previous experience so they can still use the app for tax purpose.
Well the customer service agent said he/she will send me an email to follow up but it's been 2 days and it never happens. Instead I see the case was closed.
We understand how important timely and reliable communication is, @sabiiii. If your concern has not yet been resolved, please allow me to redirect you to our phone support again. They are more equipped to assist you further with the next steps.
Here's how:
