Can I recover data from a closed out company? We cancelled our QB subscription for that company and I didn't download the data in time. Can I recover it now?

intuit keeps your company file for one year after you cancel, you can log in as read only but not make new transactions

after one year you are out of luck, they delete it

Hi, there is NO way that I can recover the data of my company after the one year that QuickBooks give us? Even paying?

Hello @AlexMLL,

@Rustler is correct. After canceling your account, you have 1 year to access your account to get the necessary data.

Once you cancel your account, you'll be given a year of read-only access to get all the data you need from your company. Once the given time is up, Intuit cleans out the data from canceled accounts.

@Rustler  and @Alessandra_B  are almost correct (unless policy has changed in the last month) Intuit will within an up to one year lapse allow you to resubscribe and fully access your data, not just reports.  https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/account-status/how-to-resubscribe-or-reactivate-qu...

A business that closes may find that while shutting down that the reports only is not enough (yes, during the 1 year you can only see reports and not individual transactions behind those reports. On "off" mode you cannot even reconcile bank accounts since you cannot view the actual transactions).  Even your accountant users if you have any would be unable to enter information after your subscription has expired.

Our essentials account was cancelled, trial ended, and I want two reports.

How do I open to get those reports.

Thanks,

I’ll be happy to answer your concern about exporting data from a cancelled subscription, @etiffany. Let me share with you some information about your cancelled subscription in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Online will allow you to have a read-only access to your data for one year from cancellation.

Since your trial account ended, you can access and export your data within 90 days from the date it was cancelled.

Here’s how you can export your data:

  1. Select the Settings :gear: icon from the tool bar.
  2. Under Tools, select Export Data.
  3. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  5. Select Export to Excel.

You can also refer to this article on what happens to your QuickBooks Online data after you cancel.

This article can also help you with exporting reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.
