You are right, the ability to import directly to Turbo Tax is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to first export QBO data to QuickBooks Desktop before importing it into Turbo Tax. If you don't have your own QuickBooks Desktop account yet, you can download the free trial of QBDT. Once you're finished downloading the product, you'll need to export the data to QBDT.
Here's the first out of six steps in exporting QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT):
Let's set up the security settings in Internet Explorer.
Here's how:
- Right-click the Internet Explorer icon.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Go to the Tools icon, then Internet Options.
- Select Security, then Trusted sites.
- Click Sites.
- In the Add this website to the zone field, enter: *.intuit.com.
- Make sure Require server verification (https: ) for all sites in this zone is unchecked.
- Close the Trusted Sites window.
- Make sure Enable Protected Mode is unchecked.
- Select Apply, then Okay. Leave Internet Explorer open.
Once done, proceed with Step 2 in this article: Export your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
