I just want to save one year at a time, or a speciafic period, for potential future audit issues. Can you do that in Quickbooks? I cannot see where to do it.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The Desktop QB programs of Enterprise and (Premier) have "Accountant's Editions" with the tool for "Period Copy." That allows you to give you file to someone with this Edition and ask them to make this Period Copy = a subset file holding only the records for that date range.
It's not possible to do what you are asking about.
In case of an audit, you may be able to use a third party app to provide only one year at a time.
What I do is make a permanent backup copy of the file at the end of each year so that if that year gets audited, only that year (and previous years) is provided to the IRS, no future year is included.

I am in need of Data Back for a specific year, Is there a specific App vendor? If it is than, can you recommend please.
Hi there, @jitu1049.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
In QuickBooks, there is no specific app that backs up for a particular year only. When you back up data, it will include the specific year and up to this date. You may want to consider checking out this Intuit Data Protect. this add-on service automatically backs up the company file daily.
I've added articles that will help you learn more about back up data:
I suggest visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features. Here's the link: The QuickBooks Blog.
I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about Data back up. I'll be happy to help you out. Wishing you well.
Are you using QBO or QBD?
Where is that option. I do not see it.
Welcome to the thread, @Albert20.
If you're referring to the Intuit Data Protect and the articles provided by my colleague @AileneA above in backing up your data, it's only available in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you're using QuickBooks Online, backing up your QuickBooks file locally isn't an option since the system is doing it automatically. Thus, every change made to your company file, your data is saved in which automatic backups performed every night.
