Can you print federal 941 individual monthly reports instead of quarterly?

Let me help with your payroll question, isirobots.

The Federal Form 941 is submitted quarterly regardless of the employer's payment schedule. Because of this, there isn't an option to print a monthly version of the form.

Although, you can run a report in QuickBooks if you want to see the amount of the 941 taxes on a monthly basis. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll Center and proceed to the File Forms tab.
  2. Click the Tax Form Worksheets link under Report
  3. Select Quarterly 941, then select the correct period under Dates.
  4. Click Create Report.
  5. Scroll down a little bit to the monthly breakdown of 941 taxes.

You can also run the Payroll Details or Payroll Summary report if you'd like to see where the amount is coming from. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Employees and Payroll.
  2. Select Payroll Summary or Payroll Detail Review.
  3. Click Customize Report to filter the data so it will only show 941 taxes.
  4. Proceed to the Filters tab, then click Payroll Item under Current Filter Choices.
  5. Click the drop-down list for Payroll Item and select Multiple payroll items.
  6. Select all 941 taxes, then click OK.
  7. Go to the Dates section and select the correct month.
