I'll share my thoughts to help clear some of your confusion. The gear icon should be in the top right corner of your home screen, between the option notification bell and your Intuit account. However, if you're using QuickBooks desktop, you won't see this button on your home screen.
If you're using QuickBooks Online, I recommend performing some browser troubleshooting steps by accessing your account in a private browsing window. Website data and cache files are not saved in this mode, which can help determine if it's a browser-related issue. You can press:
- Ctrl + Shift + N in Google Chrome
- Ctrl + Shift + P in Mozilla Firefox
- ⌘ + Shift + N in the Safari web browser.
Once logged in, look for the gear icon in the top right corner of the home page. If there is a button, go back to your regular browser and clear your cache to clean up your system. On the other hand, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, you can change your company information by going to the Company menu in QuickBooks Desktop. The method is as follows:

- Click the pencil icon to edit.
- In the Company Information window, go to the Legal Information tab.
- Enter your company address.
- Click OK once done.
