Changing account opening balance

Once I have established transactions, I forgot to note the opening balance of a checking account.  How do I note this on QB Mac Desktop 2019? I did not do so upon opening  account.  Thanks.

Changing account opening balance

Hey there, DrEH.

 

You can create a journal entry to add the opening balance.

 

Here's how:

  1. Click the Company menu.
  2. Choose Make General Journal Entries.
  3. Fill in the necessary fields.
  4. Click Save & Close.

As always, I suggest conferring with your accountant on what accounts to use.
