chart of accounts hierchial view in online

I just switched to QBO.   I would like to display the chart of accounts like in desktop with parent/subfolders in a hierarchial view.   So account 1000 with 1031 and 1032 as subs.  Then 1020 and 1030 as parents with or without subs.   Now the order displayes  is 1000,  100000,  1020, 1031, 1032 and no indication of parent fold relationship.  IT is a purely textual sort.  How do I set this up.  So the C of A shouls look like  the following:

1000

...1031

...1032

1020

1030

..1033

1040

10000

chart of accounts hierchial view in online

I know how to display the Chart of Accounts in a hierarchical view with parent and subaccounts, similar to QuickBooks Desktop, cjcntreasurer.

To achieve this in QuickBooks Online, let's turn on the Account number feature in the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose Advanced.
  3. Click the pencil icon beside the Chart of accounts section.
  4. Toggle the Enable account numbers button.
  5. Place a checkmark beside the Show account numbers box.
  6. Click Save, then Done.

Once done, let's uncheck the Number column on the Chart of accounts page. Doing so helps you easily distinguish the parent and subaccounts, the same with the desktop version. I'll show you how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Chart accounts (you can also go to Transactions, then Chart of accounts).
  2. Click the Gear icon.
  3. Uncheck the Number box.

For visual reference on how the page looks like, I've added a screenshot below:
