Converting my QuickBooks Online files to QuickBooks Desktop since I'm retired now? Can I have my files without the software cost of QuickBooks Desktop?

Yes, you can convert your QuickBooks Online company file to QuickBooks Desktop without paying any subscriptions. I'd recommend downloading our trial version. Before you start, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements.

Once done verifying, let's download the program on your computer. Here's how:

1. Click the Download QuickBooks Desktop link.
2. Select the US as the country.
3. On the Will you be using QuickBooks Desktop on multiple computers at the same time (multi-user mode)?, select an answer from the options.
4. Click Next.
5. Choose a product you'd like to install.
6. Once done, click on Download.

Once the download is completed, install QuickBooks Desktop.

After installing the desktop version, you can now start exporting and converting your QuickBooks Online file. I'd suggest scrolling from Step 2 to 5 in our Move your data article to be guided with the whole process.

To avoid charges in the future, I encourage canceling your QuickBooks Online subscription.
