Corrupt Files

Hi Everyone! I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting daily calls from QB Support Team telling them their files are corrupt and we are not getting the proper updates because we are not connecting to QB Servers?  They want to remote in to my computer and make some changes... but I was able to upgrade from Desktop to Online with no issues........My CPA tells me its a scam so I was just curious if anyone else has received those calls?

Intuit wouldn't normally contact you via phone call unless you expected and/or requested a callback with an agent. Since you're receiving phone calls from an entity claiming to be Intuit, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team directly to confirm if these communications are legitimate.

 

They can be reached while you're signed in.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Use the Help (?) icon.


     
  2. Click Contact Us.


     
  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.


     
  4. Select Start messaging or Get a call.

 

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

 

In the event it's actually Intuit contacting you, the agent you're working with will be able to see notes on your account mentioning the outbound phone call and what was discussed during it. If the agent you're working with doesn't see these notes, the phone call wasn't from Intuit. All official communications with Intuit are documented on your account.

 

Generally, scammers will try to present a scenario that sounds urgent, like mentioning that your files are corrupted and that you're not receiving the latest updates because of the data corruption. You'll want to be aware, with QuickBooks Online, all files are stored with Intuit internally, and updates are automatically pushed to all subscribers, so there's no need to manage the back-end files, or perform updates as a subscriber.

 

I'd recommend ignoring these incoming phone calls, and instead handling all communications with Intuit directly by contacting our support team with the steps mentioned above. This will assure you're speaking with Intuit, and not some other entity pretending to be Intuit. I'd also recommend against sharing your computer screen with someone who's calling you unexpectedly.

@Emily0780  It's difficult enough to get Intuit to call you when you go out of your way to get them to do so.

 

They're never going to call you daily, and this forum is rife with threads just like yours.

Oh they call me EVERY day! If I don't answer they just keep calling and when I do talk to them they will not answer any of my questions, they just talk over me and repeat themselves! They hate when I ask them to email me the errors they see so I can get my IT team to take a look!

Yes I have! I needed their assistance with admin login and of course that took a total of 4 months to get resolved that's why it's so odd that now I've upgraded they call me on the daily.  I'm going to let them have it if they ever call again!

Corrupt Files

Log into your CAMPS and change your phone number. When you last contacted Support, you gave them your data in CAMPS for verification. A certain support person took your data and now someone is using it to scam you.
