Join nowHi,
So I recently was supposed to set up my QuickBooks account with my employer, ended up downloading the QuickBooks Online App instead of Workforce and created an Admin account by mistake which is completely wrong since I am an employee and now I can't sign in to QuickBooks Workforce because it can't find the company.
My question is, if I delete my Online account, will that affect the data from my employer in anyway, since I do see them listed under the company name I put in the account I created?
Thank you everyone for your help, I am just a bit confused.
My question is, if I delete my Quickbooks
I appreciate the details you included in your post, egreening1. No worries, I'll help you set up your Workforce account.
First off, when you created a QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, that would explain why you're unable to create a Workforce account. You're required to use a different email between QBO and Workforce.
With that said, I suggest you ask your employer to send you another invite and create your Workforce account with a different email address.
To do this, here's how:
As for the QBO account that you created by mistake, you can cancel the subscription if you don't plan on using it. Also, deleting your QBO account won't affect your employer's data in any way at all.
Lastly, here's an article that you can browse through on how to change the primary admin user in your account: Change the primary admin user in QuickBooks Online.

Okay, thank you!
I was curious what to do, since when I sign in to my QuickBooks I see two companies listed, but I can't access their QuickBooks from here. Does that mean I should still delete?
I also wanted to ask if there is a way to cancel a data download request from my end, besides contacting support.
Thanks!
This is what I see when I am logged in to my account and view products and billing.
Thanks for getting back to the thread. I'm here to share my thoughts about canceling your QBO subscription.
I understand that you want to delete your QBO account and you're concerned about accidentally affecting your employer's data. Rest assured that deleting your account won't have any impact on your employer's data as you're only deleting your account. Additionally, as an admin, you have the option to cancel any data download request without having to contact support.
I'm adding these articles you can use in the future:
