How do I delete a COMPANY from my Quickbooks?

Your questions is for Quickbooks ONLINE. Most of these answers pertain to QBs desktop. Anyway, it was helpful to know that I can cancel the subscription and it will disappear in a year. Meanwhile like the rest of you... I don't like looking at it in my view of companies. So here's what you do: On the right hand side of the the Select Company box you will see three dots. Click on those and then click HIDE. It will disappear from you view and make life so much cleaner

we don't want to 'hide' it.  we want to wipe it out along with all data.  How do you answer that question?

this instruction is the same everywhere, and it should not use the title 'hide,' it should actually delete the file.

it does not.  I have another request in to Phoenix to figure out how to wipe out the file entirely.  I don't want it hiding in the background.  We use enterprise desktop for security reasons, not online versions, but the instruction does nothing.  "Hide" does not equal "delete."

I'm waiting for clarity and response.

Here's where QB gets annoying.  If we want to DELETE a company WE CREATED, it is not your option to retain it.  That means you are somehow, somewhere, retaining our data.

This is why we do not engage your online products.  In fact, we are staying with Enterprise Desktop til death, lol.  Reason?  LEGAL.  Your online products do not comply with NIST800-171(2), which is a Government Regulation for Government Contractors.  We cannot store our data on your system.  And you just confirmed that you store things without our permission.

Thanks for the confirmation, but that is not cool.  Please connect with Samantha Moio-Moore and show her this feedback.

This is a problem, people...

I'll have to politely disagree with desktop being unstable.

I've had Enterprise Desktop for years, and have no issues.  I have a client that signed up for Online Enhanced, and it is a cluster.  hate it.  Further, the qb online platform is storing your proprietary data, which for us as Navy Contractors is a security hazard.  I am on the verge, after 15yrs of switching to a different product.  Can't find the SAME ANSWER to the SAME question in Enterprise Desktop.  it's not that the question/answer is for one or the other, the problem is, specifically, they did not provide a solution for this problem, they have not provided the CHOICE to delete the company.  I don't think real Accountants are working there any more.  It's GUI writers that have no idea how day-to-day functions of accounting work.

Online is worse than Enterprise Desktop, trust me... their GUI is pretty, but I have to dig for everything, and  half of what we need doesn't work.

anyway.  just feedback.  I'm working in BOTH platforms.  Online sucks worse than desktop anyday, lol... I've got an insider at Phoenix, i've sent her an email and asked for the solution to be created.  I'll post out here if it works out.  Meanwhile, I can go back end on my desktop computer, delete the data files and hide the label so this ..... stuff...... can't conflict with other downloads I have to do.  Yep, time suck. You can't do that, because they are controlling the access to your data files on their servers...
