Exporting 30 yrs of MultiLedger data then importing to new QuickBooks

Not being able to run account-specific reports for certain accounts since the inception of our partnership is a deficiency I can no longer afford.  I need to see all the transactions for any particular Note Payables account starting with the year 2003 - therefore I am quitting Multi-Ledger and I will need to export those files (1 or 2 years at a time, accounts first, then transactions) and then import them into a new QuickBooks datafile.

Has anyone done something similar?  Just how terrible is it?  Pitfalls?  Shortcuts?

TIA, Allan

Exporting 30 yrs of MultiLedger data then importing to new QuickBooks

I've got the information you're looking for on importing data into QuickBooks for Mac, lombard.

Importing accounts first and then transactions isn't possible in the system. You can only import customers, vendors, employees, and items. The program imports transaction types like invoices, deposits, sales receipts, credit memos, payments, checks, bills, and credit card charges. For detailed information and processes, visit this article: Import data into QuickBooks for Mac.

Check if MultiLedger permits exporting transactions as a CSV file with the included accounts, as you can then import this data into QuickBooks if it contains accounts.

You might also want to find third-party applications outside QuickBooks specializing in data conversion to aid in importing MultiLedger data, including accounts first and then transactions, into QuickBooks for Mac.
