How can I generate a donor list report that includes donor name, contact information, and latest contribution date?

Here it is 2024 and the issue persists. As a small non-profit we are also burdened by having to extract the data we need to send year end tax acknowledgments. 

We still use QB desktop because of the many reports of the limitations of QBO.

AND, WE USED TO BE ABLE TO RUN the donor report with name, contact data, contributions plus total contributions in QB desktop!

In a 2022 required upgrade that feature disappeared from QB desktop, along with all our saved Memorized Reports and now we also have to run multiple reports and combine the data. Recreating the memorized reports has been very time consuming also.

Dear QB support, please let us create that report again!

We have the same problem, in 2024. We are a small non-profit, still using QB desktop at our accountant's recommendation because of the limitations of QBO. 

Until 2022, it was possible to generate a complete report of donor contact info, donations, and a total, for any date you selected. We generated this year after year for year-end tax acknowledgements. Then the feature disappeared! Along with all the memorized reports from previous years! An upgrade erased all that.

Now, we too have to generate multiple reports, combine them in excel, and generate the letter to donors. 

The memory that we used to be able to do it proves that such a capability could be restored.

I hope the QB designers are willing to make that correction.

I definitely understand the importance of having the option to generate a donor report with contact info, donations, and totals for any date you selected for your business. With that, I'll make note of this as a suggestion to improve your experience in QuickBooks.

 

On the other hand, you can send feedback to our developers. They always check the product recommendations sent by our QuickBooks users and use them as a reference when upgrading the program. You can follow these steps to send your suggestions:

 

  1. Select Settings and then click Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then, select Next to submit feedback.

 

You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

 

In the meantime, I'd suggest using the workaround you've been using to get the data that you need in QuickBooks.
