How can I get an actual vs budget report for a single line item or expense account?

I work in a church office. In addition to the budget vs actual report that shows all accounts, I need to print budget vs actual reports for individual accounts. Like one each for Children's, Youth, Small Groups, etc... so I can send those reports to the ministry leader for those individual accounts.

How can I get an actual vs budget report for a single line item or expense account?

Thanks for taking the time to post here in our Community space, @mary171. Let me point you to the assistance that you need.

You can customize your report to display a single-line item or expense in running your budget vs. the actual. I'll show you how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, go to Reports.
  2. Click the Budget vs. Actuals under the Business Overview.
  3. Select Customize at the upper right corner of your screen.
  4. Go to Filter, then tick box beside the Account
  5. Click the drop-down arrow and choose the expense account that you want.
  6. Hit Run report.

For an additional guide on customizing a report, you can check out this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

After that, you can now print and send your reports.

On the other hand, if you want to save the current customization settings of your reports, you can memorize them

Feel free to post here again if you have additional questions about QuickBooks. We've got you covered, and we'll get back to you. Have a good one!
