Let's find your data in QuickBooks, jeffdampf.
First, you need to check if you're accessing the correct account. If you have multiple QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounts, make sure to use the correct user ID and password.
If you only have one QBO account, you can check the Audit log function as shared by Nathan-K on this thread. It'll tell you who made some changes to your company file.
You can also review your register history to find transactions. Let me show you how:
- Go to the Accounting menu.
- Select the Chart of Accounts tab.
- Look for the bank account and select View register.
- Look for the transaction. Select it to get more details.
- This gives you a complete history of the transaction.
If you don’t categorize transactions into specific accounts, QuickBooks puts them into the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expenses. Your missing transaction may be there. To check these accounts:
- Go to the Accounting menu.
- Select the Chart of Accounts tab.
- Look for the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expenses account.
- Select Run report.
- Look for your missing transaction on the report.
To move transactions out of Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expenses, follow these steps to unmatch and move them.
