How do I change one of our users (Ron) to (Kevin) ?

Hey, Blacey.

Making these types of changes to your users is simple, and I can help walk you through the process. First, keep in mind only that the Admin of the company file can make these changes. Once you are signed in as Admin follow these steps:

  1. Click the Company tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select Users then Set Up Users and Roles.
  3. You should now see a list of your users.
  4. Select the User you want to change the name of.
  5. Click Edit, which will be on the right side of the pop-up box.
  6. In the next prompt, you will have the option to be able to edit that user's name password and roles.

If you want, you can even change the access that the user has by managing the role of that user. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise lets you customize roles so users can only do certain tasks. You can even set permissions for specific sections of your accounts. Based on their role, you can give users full, partial, or limited access to create, modify, delete, or print data. If you have any other questions, you can reach out to me here.
