How do I fix - error 163 - sorry we can't update your account.

I understand how important it is to have your bank accounts updated seamlessly, especially when managing day-to-day financial tasks, hbbrown005.

Error code 163 indicates that your financial institution's data has changed website and needs an update. This occurs when the bank changes its Internet service provider, an incorrect login link or website URL is used, or the bank's website is temporarily down for maintenance.

To verify, please contact your bank institution to see if they're performing any scheduled maintenance or if they've switched internet service providers.

If they've switched to a different internet service or you've used an incorrect login link, you can re-enter your sign-in information for your bank account to ensure that your account and details are correct. Here’s how:

  1. In the dashboard, select Accounting.
  2. Go to Bank transactions.
  3. Choose the bank account, then click the pencil icon.
  4. Select Edit sign in info.
  5. Re-enter your sign-in information.
  6. Hit Save and connect.

Once done, you can update the bank to download new transactions.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Live Support team. They have the tools to further investigate and help resolve the error, allowing you to update your bank account.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your bank transactions into QuickBooks by importing them using a CSV file.

You can always revisit this thread if you have additional questions.
