Please know that invoices cannot be removed from income as they are integral to your earnings tracking. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), invoices represent the revenue you have earned, regardless of whether the payment has been received or not.
If you run your financial statements in cash basis, only the paid invoices will be treated as income. This means that revenue is recognized when the payment is received, regardless of the invoice due date. Unpaid or overdue invoices will not be included in the financial report until they are paid.

You cannot unlink invoices from income.
However, if you're on a cash basis you can run your financial reports on a cash basis and then your invoices won't appear as income until they are paid, and even they'll appears as income on the payment date(s).
