Let me share with you some information about the Budget vs. Actual report in QuickBooks Online.
You'll need to create the budget and make sure to set a class. This way, you can include the Class option in the Filter section.
From the budget creation page, there's a drop-down under Subdivide by, choose the Class. Without this step, your Budget vs. Actuals report would only show Account as a filter option.
There isn't an option to change this on an already saved budget, so I suggest creating a new one.
Once done, you can now run the report and make sure that you select the appropriate budget from the Budget section. Here's how:

Hi,
I have the same question...I can go edit the NUMBERS in a previously built budget, but I can't figure out how to change the header to subdivide by classes in order to run reports (specifically Budget vs. Actuals) by class.
Is there a way to modify previously built budgets that did NOT use classes and convert to a budget with classes?
Thanks,
Dayna
