How to get CPA’s discounted rate

I currently subscribe to Essentials direct from Intuit and would like to take advantage of my CPA’s discounted rate. Is it possible to do with existing account ? We tried to transfer billing to the CPA but the rate stays unchanged.

How to get CPA’s discounted rate

Hi, @Steelhead1

I'll lay down a few insights about the ProAdvisor discounts and pricing.

You'll still be charged at the regular rate without any promotional discounts since you have an existing QuickBooks Online subscription in the ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing program. Thus, it's the reason why your rate stays unchanged when you try to transfer billing to the CPA. Your firm will cover the costs and billing for them from now on.

Alternatively, you can let your CPA subscribe to a new QuickBooks subscription so you can take advantage of their discount rate.

For more details about taking over client billing, check out this handy resource: Transfer clients to your ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing program in QuickBooks Online.

How to get CPA’s discounted rate

Thank you for your reply, @Carneil_C ; I'm not sure I follow the process to take advantage of the CPA's discounted rate in our situation; Your response states "you'll stilll be charged at the regular rate", but it seems there's a way to take advantage of the ProAdvisor pricing - can you clarify ?

How to get CPA’s discounted rate

Hey there, Steelhead1. I've got some information to share regarding how discounts work in QuickBooks.

The Proadvisor Pricing program is only available for new QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Online Payroll, and QuickBooks Time. When a QuickBooks Online Accountant account adds a client with an existing QBO subscription to the ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing program, they'll be billed at the standard rate with no promotional discounts. The firm will cover the costs and billing for them from now on.

Since you've mentioned that you have an existing account, the discount is unavailable for you. This explains why as you tried to transfer the billing to your CPA, the rate remains unchanged.

For you to take advantage of the promotional discount, your CPA should be the one to subscribe for you. Thus, you'll need to cancel your current account and then make your CPA create a new one for you.

You may refer to our Plans and Pricing in ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing Discounts to learn more about the available plans in QuickBooks.

In addition, you can also learn how to manage clients who are part of your ProAdvisor discount plan and review its charges: Manage your ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing plan and ProAdvisor discount clients

For you to take advantage of the promotional discount, your CPA should be the one to subscribe for you.

So if they're willing to do that, can you advise how to move the company data over ?

Sounds like they would need to do it with a new account then? What steps would I need to take to migrate our company data over ?

How to get CPA’s discounted rate

Hello there, @Steelhead1. I'm here to provide information about moving data to the new account.

Before anything else, yes, to avail of the promotional discount, your CPA must be the one to subscribe on your behalf. You will need to cancel your current account and ask your CPA to create a new one for you.

Once your CPA successfully creates a new account, you can move data such as reports, non-posting transactions, attachments, and lists. Meanwhile, if you wish to move all data, you can consider exploring third-party apps that offer this feature as an alternative solution.

Moreover, to manage your clients who are part of your ProAdvisor discount plan and review its charges, you can visit this article: ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing plan.
