How to look up time entries by customer?

You can follow the steps below to pull up time entries for your customers in QuickBooks, gmgbookkeeper.

 

First, if you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO), these are the steps:

 

  1. Navigate to the Time menu.
  2. Click on Time entries.
  3. From the Display by dropdown, select Customer.

  4. Adjust the Date range as needed.

 

For a more detailed view, you can run the Time Activities by Customer Detail report:

 

Here's how, If you're using the Modern View:

  1. Click on the Reports menu.
  2. Search for the Time Activities by Customer Detail report.
  3. Select the Report period.

  4. Click the Columns tab, then More columns, and ensure the Customer checkbox is selected.

 

On the other hand, if you're using the Classic View:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Search for the Time Activities by Customer Detail report.
  3. Select the Specific Time Activity Date.
  4. Click Customize.
  5. Under Rows/Columns, set Group by Customer.

  6. Click on Change Columns, and then check the box for Customer.
  7. Once done, Run report.

 

Alternatively, here's how you can do it if you're using QuickBooks Time:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Time account.
  2. Click on Time Entries.
  3. Select Timesheets and choose the preferred date range.

  4. Click the Gear icon and make sure the Customer option is checked to filter or display time entries by the customer.
