How to report a transaction you didn’t make

I'll give you some guidance on how to handle unauthorized transactions in your account, @hemostatphlebser.

We can run an audit log to identify the user who made the transaction. QuickBooks Online keeps track of all financial transactions in the chart of accounts, and it records all user activities in the audit log, including sign-ins, changes to settings, and customer, vendor, employee, and payroll submissions.

To run an audit log, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click on Audit log.
  2. Select Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Choose Apply.

This will give you a better understanding of what happened and allow you to take the necessary actions.

You'll want to run the Transaction List by Date report to view all your recorded transactions in your books. You can customize it according to your needs: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

If you need help with any unauthorized transactions in your account, please let me know. I'm always available to assist you.
