Buy nowHi richard70. To use QuickBooks Desktop on two different computers in different locations you will need to set up what is called Multi-User Mode. This process will require access to both computers and full administrator rights to the computer that will be storing the company files.
No worries though, the process is made nice and easy by our article on opening remotely stored files. The article will guide you through everything you need to know to get up and running at both of your locations, which always makes working on your company file much easier. don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything else.
Utilize a remote desktop app and there are some options in the market. You may start exploring from this one

Should both of you need to work on the same file at the same time, you will need a different solution to deploy a private cloud.
this is only of the computers are on the same network, I have 2 pubs, they are located miles part, how would i access one file from both locations without using a remote program
Thanks for joining this thread, TheRack.
I understand that you need to access the file from different locations. Let me help you.
It's impossible to access the company file from both locations without a hosting or remote program. We need a hosting server where we'll store the file so you can open it even if you're miles away from the other location.
Intuit offers a hosting service but you can also check with the other authorized hosting providers.
Please check these links on how to set up a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop:
