I always want the customer to pay the ACH BANK PAYMENT fee. How do I set the PAYMENT OPTIONS/YOUR BUSINESS PAYS THE FEE setting to off by default?

Currently I have to change this setting for EVERY invoice I send out. Crazy!!

I can imagine how time-consuming it must be to manually update the settings for each invoice you, especially when you're trying to run your business efficiently, Bodie. I can help you set the option as default.

To achieve your goal of having "Your customer pays the fee" as the default, you would need to disable all online payment methods in your QuickBooks Online account.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear iconin the upper-right corner of your dashboard.
  2. Click on Account and Settings.
  3. On the left-hand menu, select the Sales then Invoice Payments.
  4. Here, you will find the options for Credit Card, ACH bank payments, PayPal, and Venmo. Ensure that all of these are turned off.
  5. Check the box of the Your customer pays the fee option.
  6. Click Save, then Close.

Once all online payment methods are disabled, the "Your customer pays the fee" setting will become the default, as it's the only option available for online payments at that point.

Are you B2B or B2C? You need to use a 3rd party payment processor to sync with QBO.
