Thanks for visiting the Community, @Centre for International Law. As an insight, QuickBooks will only accepts cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. 

 

Also, it should have a US-based billing address for you to successfully resubscribe. Check out this article for more details: Subscription payment options for QuickBooks Online.

 

You also want to use a personal credit card and get reimbursed later.

 

If the details are already correct, we can troubleshoot your browser by clearing the cache to help us remove the unnecessary data on your browser.

 

If the error persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team to help review your account to update the billing information:

 

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right corner and select Contact us.
  2. Enter the details of your concern such as "failed to update billing information" and select Let's talk.
  3. Select the option to connect with us: 
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Thank you for your reply first of all!

 

We have an international NGO registered in Belgium and I am trying to pay with Norwegian Visacard. I was using QB and this card since 2017 and it worked without any problem. But a few months ago something changed with the payments system. I found some links about these new rules and the need for confirmation from the bank.

 

Problem is that I do not get this request via bank or QB. I do no understand how to confirm this payment. I am just getting error messages.

 

I do not see any "customer support" number to call for help.

I have Visa that I used since 2017 and it worked fine. I could pay with this card all these years but I can not do it for the past few months.

 

I do not have a US address so what is our alternative to paying for the subscription.

Just to clarify your needs, why didn't you purchase QBO EU version for Belgium?

I am not sure if it was a conscious decision. I selected "Country" and that is Belgium. 

 

Is it possible to change this in setting somehow?

I understand that solution here is to change my account from US registration to EU. 

How can I do this? can you please send me instructions on how to re-registering from the US to the EU QB system?

You are unable to "switch" the country version. Cancel your QBO US account and purchase a new blank QBO EU version with the link as I mentioned earlier. Make sure your subscription rate is in Euro, not other currency. You may need a migration tool to migrate data from QBO US to QBU EU if required.

It's best to use the version for the country your business is primarily based in. If your business is primarily based in the US, then you'd need to use the US version of QuickBooks. If your business is primarily based in Spain, you'd need to use the QuickBooks Spanish version. Both versions of QuickBooks offer the multi-currency feature.

1. Utilize a migration tool

2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service.

I need to write here as we have the exact same problem with trying to pay our subscription with a credit card without a US billing address.

Last year we migrated from QB Desktop Premier 2019 version to QB Online. We are working from Germany and Laos but needed to sign up to QB Online Plus US version as we were using QB Desktop Premier 2019 in US version as well and we wanted to get our data migrated. QB support exports from the global team as well as from the US recommended us to sign for the US Version.

So we did the sign up and payment last year via the phone and the expert did not mention any problem regarding a german credit card (American Express) without an US billing address. Instead the payment just worked fine.

So do you guys now really want to tell us that we cannot extend our subscription with this credit card but we need to change to another version and lose all data ? I can use this credit card to buy other services or products or services in the US but not pay the subscription for our accounting system? 

I would like to talk to a payment agent but unfortunately I cannot use the call back function as it does not allow german mobile numbers.

Please advise how I can reach out to a payment agent a resolve the problem.

Your solution is the same with the first poster. You may open a new blank QBO EU version for Germany and a new blank QBO Global version for Laos.

then you may have 2 option to migrate data from QBO US version:

2. Purchase our conversion service.

 

As another option, migrate back to QB Desktop US version and deploy a private cloud. Your users may access the company file(s) by internet connection.

thanks a lot for your support. However, this is really difficult to accept for us as it was recommended to us just a year ago to sign up for QB Online US Version. And I do not understand why there was no problem with the payment last year but it is this year.

As well migration to a german or global QBO account would now imply additional costs (conversion service and recreation of all customized reports).

 

However, how could I get more information about your conversion services (costs, what data will migrated, etc.)
