I can't start a new sales receipt or write a new check. It simply won't open. If I log off and log back on to my QB sometimes I can proceed. What am I doing wrong?

The system occasionally behaves strangely when the browser frequently accesses pages. It could be due to corrupted cache files in your browser. This might be the reason why you're unable to open a new sales receipt or even create a new check.

I recommend using a different browser or a private window to help you fix this so QuickBooks Online runs effectively. The incognito window does not save data history in the cache making it a good place to isolate web data issues. 

You can use these shortcut keys to access a private window or an incognito:
 

  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge press CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome press CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari press Command + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
     

If you can open and create a new sales receipt without any issues, you can go back to the regular browser and then clear your browser's cache. This cleans up the data on your cache that's causing performance issues in QuickBooks. 

If the issue still persists, use other supported web engines to learn what computer and browser are needed for the best experience when using QuickBooks.

There some criteria that could prevent the program from matching. Kindly check these:

 

Verify the transaction first.
Make sure the QuickBooks Online transaction has not been previously matched to another transaction.
Once you add the receipts and bills in QuickBooks, they’ll show up in the For Review tab where you can review, edit, and match transactions. The receipts tab is where you can manage to match your expense receipts and bills all in one place.
