I want to make sure you're able to use your payroll subscription without any issues, @proofbakeryobx,

There are several situations why you're getting a "Reactivate Payroll Subscription" notice in QuickBooks. Here are some:

  • If the automatic renewal isn't successful, or the credit card or bank account on file is outdated.
  • Intuit is having trouble getting authorization for your payroll charges.
  • QuickBooks is not updated, or an internet interruption occurred during the update.
  • Using an incorrect tax table version.

Take a look at this article to know more about the Payroll subscription alerts and how to fix them: Update or Renew Your Subscription

To correct this, let's make sure you're able to download the latest tax table update version 22012. You can check that by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Employees tab, and select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. You'll see the tax table version beside the Payroll Update Info button. (Please see screenshot.)
  3. If it's not showing the correct version, click the Download entire payroll update radio button then press Update.

Next, review the status of the Payroll if it is showing active in the company file. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Employees tab and select My Payroll Service.
  2. Pick Manage Service Key from the list.
  3. In the Status column, verify if it says Active.
  4. You can also view your subscription status by pressing Ctrl + K on your keyboard.
  5. If the status says Active, click the Edit button.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Uncheck the Open Payroll Setup - I want to start right tick box.
  8. Hit Finish.

Once done, close the company file and re-open it again. Let me know the result in the comment section below. I'll be more than glad to share additional insights and assistance whenever you need one. All the best!
