Welcome to the Community.

Let me share information about logging in to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

I understand you are able to log in and access QBSE in your mobile phone, but your account is unrecognized online.

When logging in online, make sure to use the correct login credentials. You may want to update your credentials using the device you are currently logged in.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Intuit Account Manager. Use your sign-in info for QuickBooks, TurboTax, Credit Karma, or our professional tax products.
  2. Select the Sign in & security menu.
  3. Choose the User IDEmail addressPassword, or Phone section.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. When you're done, select Save.

Once done, you can try logging in again online using the new login credentials.

For future reference, you can read this article if you want to update your billing and subscription info in QBSE: Update your billing and subscription info in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know if you need further assistance logging in to QBSE. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

I have an active subscription but am trying to log in online and it does not recognize that i have an active account and wants me to subscribe.

I've been paying for QB Self Employed for years. It's the day before tax day, and I can't log in. The only way to log in is to do a google search for "QB Self Employed log in," which leads to an error page.

Every single time I try to log in, QB makes me change my password. Then, like you, even though I pay for a subscription (I know this for a fact, because it is on my credit card bill every month) , it won't allow me to access any of my info and instead tries to get me to...buy yet another subscription.

QB is absolutely horrible, and the customer support is dismal, The only reason I have it is because I'm locked in. However, I've been unable to access it for months, which has caused massive headaches, and now, because QB Self-Employed's website is non-functioning, I will have to file an extension on my tax return.

This software is disastrous. I am telling all sole proprietors I know to stay far, far away.

QB Self Employed is horrible and the customer service is even worse. The website rarely functions. Log in is impossible. I've had a paid subscription for years, but now that it's time to file taxes, I can't get in. Like you, it wants me to buy a subscription, even though I pay for the subscription every month.

It's absolutely horrendous software. I teach a lot of classes, and I tell all sole proprietors I know to stay far away from this software.

I'm here to help you log in and file your taxes accordingly, kmwriter.

Before we begin, may I know the error you received while logging in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) in Chrome? This way, we can provide you with some explanation of why this is happening on your end.

Since you've mentioned that accessing your information is unavailable on your end, I suggest using other supported web browsers or private browsers as you log in to your account to rule out any browsing history or cached files causing the problem. Here are the shortcut keys for accessing private browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If issues persist, you can use the account recovery form to access your account. You'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Take a clear photo or scan of your valid ID such as your driver's license, state ID, passport, or notarized document.
  2. Fill out the Proof of Identity form and upload the documents you've prepared: Proof of Identity.
  3. After filling out the form, check out your email address and look for an email from no_response@intuit.com. This contains the next course of action.
  4. Once QuickBooks approves your request, a link will be sent to you to change or reset your password.
