Recently updated our Mac OS to Sierra. Now Quickbooks won't open, and we can't' update QB version except from QB (?!). Now how do we access our finance records?

You have to purchase QuickBooks Mac 2016. It will read your old file and upgrade it.  You can download a trial version that will work for 30 days from www.qblittlesquare.com.  Or you can purchase it from Intuit or Amazon.

You need to install the 2016 version of QuickBooks. It is Sierra compatible. That would be an upgrade.

I'm logged into "Your QuickBooks Account" and don't see an option to install 2016 version. How?

Ray: they don't give me a way of responding to your answer, so I hope you are reading this. How do I upgrade from 2014 to 2016 versions? Nothing is listed on the QB account page. And what about my 10+ years of data that I can't even access? This is very poor product support

This isn't support. This is a user to user forum made up of volunteers willing to answer questions & share our knowledge.
