Hello, bpurtax.
Starting over is one of the things you can do to reorganize your data as clean as possible. That said, I have ways that you can use to help recover your new account.
If you've used the same email address to sign up for the new subscription, you'll want to log in to it. After logging in, you'll be directed to the page where you can select your subscriptions (old or new ones).
If you've used a different one, you'll want to check all of your active email addresses. Look into their inboxes regarding your new subscription purchase. When you find it, you can use that to log in to your new account.
If not, you can recover your email address where your new subscription is registered. You can also recover your password if you're having issues with it. Here's how:
- Go to http://qbo.intuit.com/.
- Click the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
- Enter the phone number used when you signed up for the new account.
- Click Continue.
If you're still having issues finding your new account, I would recommend contacting our support team. They can use their tools to recover your new subscription and help you access it. Here's how:
- Go back to the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
- Click Try something else.
- Hit the message us for support link.
- Fill up the form, then click Submit.
You can also contact us using your old account (provided that you can still log in to it):
- Log in to your old account.
- Click the Help icon.
- Hit the Contact Us button.
- Specify your concern in the box. Example: I bought a new subscription but I can't access my new account.
- Click Let's talk.
- Choose Start messaging or Get a callback.
After recovering your new subscription, you have the option to export the list (vendors, customers, Chart of Accounts, etc) from your old account (even if it's canceled):
- Log in to your old account.
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Export Data.
- Choose the reason for exporting, then click Continue.
- Go to the List tab.
- Ensure the list you need is ticked (you can also remove one by toggling the button).
- Click Export to Excel.
A .ZIP file will be downloaded containing the lists. You can open one of the Excel files and edit or change the list details. Once done, you can log in to your new account and import the lists. Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Import Data.
- Choose a specific list you want to import.
- Click the Browse button.
- Select Next, then follow the on-screen prompts.
