Importing your data requires several steps to ensure your information migrates properly. Since your QBDT trial account has already expired, you'll need to reactivate it. You can also create a backup file to secure a copy of your company's data.
To reactivate your account, I suggest to get in touch with our Support team for guidance.
Once your account is already reactivated, here's how you can move your data:

Once you're done with the migration you can cancel your QuickBooks Desktop account. However, you can carry on with your account without having to follow the steps above and stop utilizing your QBO account.

Which QB Desktop year version did you try?
You want to stay with QB Desktop or use QB Online? They are 2 different products.
I would rather stay with desktop but the link that came up in desktop (Mac) took me to online and it looked like there was no way to continue with desktop.
Thank you, I will contact support to try and get desktop (which I would rather use anyway) so I can export and then import the data.
It sucks that I just cannot import the quickbooks data file that desktop saved.

You can call their Sales team to purchase it. If they refused to help, you can purchase it thru selected partners (tax exempt, can get $100 cashback).
I was using the trial version of QB 2024 desktop for Mac.
Pretty obvious that they don't like the desktop version since it is impossible to find online I want control over my data and would much prefer the desktop version. Might be time to find another solution.

To continue accessing your files and importing your data, you'll need to have an active QuickBooks Desktop account. You can subscribe for QBDT through this link: New QuickBooks Desktop subscription.
You can also look for other reseller or merchants that offers QuickBooks Desktop for Mac so you can restore your files.
Please note that new subscriptions will no longer be available for QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, and Mac Plus after July 31, 2024.
