Is it possible to transfer a subscription payment to a different company? I tried to pay for a subscription and accidentally created a new company.

I already entered data and setup my chart of accounts in QBO. When I went to pay for my subscription after my trial ran out, I entered my company data and payment info and - ended up with a new, separate company :( Can I combine these accounts or transfer my payment info to the original one I created?

I’m here to help ensure you’re only paying for the subscription you need. Let me route you in the direction of your subscription concern.


If you haven’t entered any transactions or opt not to use the new account, cancel it to keep the old one. I’ll show the steps to do this in QBO.


Here’s how:

 

  1. Open the account you wish to cancel.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top to choose Account and settings under Your Company.
  3. Tap the Billing & Subscription menu on the left panel to view your subscription details.
  4. From there, click the Cancel subscription link.cancel simple.png
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cancellation process.

However, if there are already entries recorded into the new company, export the lists and then import them into the old account. Here’s a helpful guide that will walk you through the steps: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.


In regard to the payment, I recommend you get in touch with our QBO Care Team. They can check your subscription in a secure space. Then, explain in detail how to handle the situation.

 

 

  1. Choose the Help icon at the top to open the QB Assistant window.
  2. In the Assistant tab, enter the issue/topic in the field box.
  3. Click the Get help from a human link and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
  4. Select Chat with us or Have us call you.

Afaiik, they won't allow to transfer the subscription between QBO account. You don't have any option but purchasing your trial account with the regular rate to reactivate it..
