You can open multiple companies in the desktop app. I would like it to reopen those that I have open when I close the app or have a startup setting to open certain companies when I start the app
Yes, that's right, Bob. Let me provide details about accessing multiple companies and reopening them in the QuickBooks Online desktop app.
In the QBO desktop app, you can open multiple companies and switch between them without reloading each company. Opening multiple companies in windows (like a browser) instead of a new tab is a new feature implemented with the most recent update (3.0.3) of QB Desktop App. As of March 19th, I no longer have the ability to switch to different companies in tabs. I have over two dozen companies I used to be able to switch between companies by selecting a different company in the drop menu and it would just replace the company I was viewing, not a new window. If I wanted two companies open, I would simply open a new tab and select a new company. Now my screen just looks like a collage of browsers and I can hear the pc fan whirring because the processor is having to do so much work. If I could roll back to the previous version I was using on Tuesday, I would.
You’re right, Nomad. That option existed before the update. Please share your feedback with our product engineers so they can consider reintroducing it in future updates and improve your experience.
Here's how:
