Is there an option in Chart of Accounts that I can tag General Ledgers as accrual only? I need accrual reports for audit purposes and retain Cash basis.

Every time I post a JE, it gets posted to cash and accrual. I need it to select accrual JE only.

Accounts are not cash or accrual basis, except for AR and AP in QB. This are excluded from Cash reports.  As I understand it, QB cannot distinguish AP or AR on JE's, so both reports will show all items Cash or Accrual.

Hello there, @clinasoc.

You can set accrual to a default setting every time you will pull up a report in QuickBooks.

 Here’s how:

  1.  In your QuickBooks Online, click the Settings icon on the upper right corner and select Account and Settings.
  2.  Choose the Advanced tab.
  3.  In the Accounting section, click the pencil icon.
  4.  Click the drop-down arrow to select the Accounting method you want to set up as default.
  5.  Once done, click Save and Done.

Check out the screenshots below as visual reference.

You can also use this article if you wanted to customize your reports and focus on the details that matter the most to you: Customize Report.

That should do it. If you need further help, please let me know by clicking the Reply button below. Have a great day!

Accrual report just excludes A/P and A/R, will show JE's the same on both reports.
