Looking to revert back to desktop. Online is garbage. What to I need to do?

This is not what we want you to feel, Gofor. Let me provide some steps to revert your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. Download and install QuickBooks Desktop on your computer.
  2. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Go to File and select Close Company. Leave QuickBooks Desktop open while you complete the rest of the steps.

To learn more about these steps, refer to this article on how to move your QuickBooks data: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

Once done, you'll have to cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial so you won't be charged for upcoming bills.

Moreover, check this article to find out how your books will move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have other questions about reverting your data from QBO to QBDT, don't hesitate to reply in the comment section. We're always here to assist you all the way. Keep safe.

The first step provided by @Heide DC is one step ahead of moving your data from Online to desktop. Let me show you how you can do this in a more detailed way, Kevin.

You may notice a slight difference in how your books appear once you move from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). You'll need a recent version of QuickBooks Desktop before you move them or download a trial and use it as an alternative.

After you've downloaded QuickBooks Desktop, you can sign in to QuickBooks Online and download the migration tool. To do so, follow the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account you want to convert with a browser we support.  Use your Intuit Account credentials.
  2. Select the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.  The URL should say https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. Then select Enter on your keyboard.  Other support task links won't work during this process.
  3. You'll see Export Overview.  Read the Export Overview. You can print out it if you'd like. Select Get Started.
  4. Select the Download tool to download the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
  5. Once you download the tool, launch the tool to install it and select Next.
  6. Accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next.
  7. Select Complete as the type of setup, then Next.
  8. Select Install, then Finish.

Then, prepare the file for export so you can select your data. Next, run the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool. To give more detailed steps about the process, you can continue the Step 2 of this article: Move Your QuickBooks Online Data to QuickBooks Desktop.

Furthermore, if you successfully migrated back to QuickBooks Desktop, you may also want to browse and check out some of our helpful articles for reference, click this link to find out what are these articles: QuickBooks Desktop Help Articles.

Please touch base with us here if you have any questions about migrating your data. I'd be happy to help.

Looking to revert back to desktop. Online is garbage. What to I need to do?

Do you know why users think the online version is garbage? You changed the look and the way to enter data after years of users getting use to the desktop version. Don't move stuff around you twits! I tried to run payroll..... your program said I needed to fix something first....I did....then I could not run payroll. This online version makes me so upset I want to vomit. I am going back to the desktop version and I implore you to leave the desktop version the hell alone!
