Managing foreign currency accounts

Hello,
Hope you’re doing well!
I have an issue with using foreign currency “Euro” for some of our accounts. The following accounts record transactions in Euro but as shown in the following picture, it is still showing USD. I checked all the transaction and they were recorded properly but I am just confused why is it showing USD. Our home currency is USD.
Any assistance you provide will be great appreciated. Thanks

Managing foreign currency accounts

Hi there, @Manizha1983. Thank you for posting in the Community. Hope you're doing great too!

I'd be happy to share some details on why the currency created showed the home currency you have now.

Looking at your screenshot, the account type that you're using is the Other Current Account. In this case, the option to assign a foreign currency is unavailable.

You can assign a foreign currency to the following accounts:

  • Bank
  • Credit Card
  • Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Accounts Payable (A/P)

I'd recommend speaking with your accountant about the accounts you can use to track your vendors' and customers' transactions. To know more details about managing Multicurrency, you can check out this article: Set up and use Multicurrency. It also includes tips and workarounds you can perform that relate to multicurrency.

Moreover, to track your financials more effectively in the future, you can narrow it down and get the specific data that you prefer. For more details, see this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be around if you need further assistance or if you have any questions. Let me know in the comment section. Take care and have a great day ahead!
