Join nowWe use Multi-User mode constantly in QB 2016 Premier Manufacturing & Wholesale Edition for desktop.
We recently transferred a backup of the company file to a new computer, and things seemed to work fine.
But this morning, we noticed that the person on the new computer, when they opened a new sales order, was three or four numbers off the sales order # that populated on a different machine for someone else. Additionally, neither user can see the other one in QB messenger.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before, and if so, what's the fix? We are at a loss.
Thanks.
Hello there, @RickW.
Let me help you stay connected in QuickBooks Desktop using the Multi-User Mode.
In QuickBooks, we have developed a great tool that is designed to automatically diagnose and fix multi-user issue. To do so, let's start downloading the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
Then, save the file to your Desktop. Once done, you can close any open programs and run the QB Install Tool.
Now, let's restart the computer after running the tool to ensure the components are properly updated.
Here's an article that provides a detailed steps on how to use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool: QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
You should be up and running again. If there's anything else I can further assist, just leave me a reply below and I'll get back to you.
Thanks all, we figured it out (finally). The old computer was set as the office server, so it was simply a matter of plugging in an Ethernet cord so the new PC picked up the old PC on the network and now we are all accessing the same file.
Thanks again for the suggested solutions.
