Join nowI had to upgrade to Pro Plus '22 from the Premier Contractor edition. When entering a bill to pay a subcontractor, I used to get a warning if their insurance certificate has expired. Now no dates are entered since the switch, and the new system lets me pay them even after I go back and manually enter the expired insurance date. How do I remedy this?
Hi there, Mhllcmo.
Let me share some clarifications as to why you're not seeing the warning message when entering a bill.
The Workers Compensation Insurance is designed for contractors. This means that the option to set an automatic alert remains a feature in QuickBooks Desktop but is only available in the Premier Contractor Edition. This will allow you to set dates for the vendor insurance. If those dates expire, you'll be warned about the case when you try to do things like creating a payment for the vendor.
Should you decide to upgrade your subscription, select what's best for you. Once you have it, you can start the upgrade tool.
I've always got your back if you need further assistance in upgrading your QuickBooks to a newer version. Have a great day.
I had the Premier Contractor Edition until Quickbooks made me update. So frustrating as the people at QB who updated me couldn't even point that out.
Has there been a solution to this yet? What is your work around? I was just forced into upgrading to Enterprise and my dates are gone.
Hi there, Lieveka.
Can you tell us more details about the dates that are missing? We just want to make sure that we are giving you the right steps and information to sort this out.

I ended up calling in and was able to switch to the Enterprise Contractor edition by doing the following:
Help
Manage My License
Change to a Different Industry Edition
I then chose the one titled "Enterprise Solutions Contractor" and it's back.
Thank you!
Lieveka
