POPUPS

I have turned off pop-ups in preferences. And still every time I log in I am asked to try Quickbooks Online. I have many QB Desktop clients, and EVERY TIME I log in to a different account I am asked to try Quickbooks Online. There is NO option to decline. The options are TRY NOW or TRY LATER. I am so bleeping sick of this. What the heck. The very least Intuit could do is to give an option to turn this off. Are you on a campaign to annoy your clients? Do you think you can pester us into submission? This is so freakin ridiculous. Please turn this off or give us the option. I have had to deal with this at least 10 times TODAY ALONE! And God forbid you click the wrong thing. Then you have to shut Quickbooks down to get rid of it. PLEASE INTUIT! Save the sanity of your clients and give us a way out!

POPUPS

Hello there, @kgood1948.

First off, I appreciate the effort that you've exerted into this. I understand that turning off the pop-ups makes it easy to focus on your business. Please know that after you've turned off the pop-up messages for products and services, you'll need to restart your QuickBooks Desktop application for it to take effect.

In case you're still getting them, I recommend that you make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Additionally, feel free to visit these articles for future reference:

The latest version: "Capture expenses the way you want to. Need more flexibiltiy? Use Quickbooks Online to recordexpenses anywhere, anytime, with any payment method. Try it now for free." There are two options on this offer: "Maybe Later" and "Try Now".

Yes, Quickbooks Desktop updated earlier today. Did it have any effect on this popup? Not a bit.

Have I opted out of popups in Preferences? Yes, I have. Did it have any effect on this popup? Not a bit.

I understand how the pop-up affects your time while working on the client's QuickBooks account, kgood1948.

For now, you can select the Maybe Later option to remove the message. The update is working as designed and it doesn't let turn it off from the preferences.

You can send feedback about the pop-up. To log your product suggestions inside your company file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Under Product Area, select Product Updates.
  5. Describe your request. Say an option not to receive in-product promotions.
  6. Select Send Feedback.
  7. Click Close Window.

Your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QuickBooks.

On top of that, here are a couple of articles you can read helpful in keeping you up-to-date with the latest software improvements and enhancements.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Stay safe!

The popup that I wrestle with at least once a day on my QB Pro 2021 desktop version, plants itself at the upper right corner of my screen, covering up the entire corner and disallowing access to what lies underneath. It is a big dead square, as clicking on 'maybe later' or 'try now' or even clicking the video play button yields nothing. There isn't an option to close the box at all, and it wouldn't work if there was that option. The only way to get rid of it is to back up my file, and then hope it doesn't come back during that session.

I have already made sure my preferences were set to decline pop-ups. This happens on a daily basis, whenever I access a page from my home screen (vendors, employees, etc.), and the fact that it is simply dead space in my way is quite annoying. Just today I submitted an issue on the help menu, and I hope that commenting here will also yield some results. Thank you.

I CAN'T BELIEVE how useless this response is. C'mon Quickbooks, you can do better.

Agreed.  If I want help, let me navigate to the help section myself instead of being bombarded with the help pop-up, which ironically often covers the ability to push the 'Save' button, so, not very helpful at all.

Let users decide when they want to use help.   Let users decide if they want to see the message again.

Stop pushing out these unwanted pop-ups.   They are a distraction, and take away from the user experience.

Oh irony.  While I was replying to a post reiterating my frustration with these endless popup ads I received a ... you guessed it!  A popup ad asking for my feedback on my experience in the QB Support Community.

The popup gave me two choices:  "Yes, when I'm done" and "No."

I selected "Yes, when I'm done." - but the popup took me to the survey instantly anyway.

This is truly emblematic of Intuit's approach to their customers.
