Join nowThe FTC used to care about such things, but I'm not sure what they actually do nowadays. There have been so many harmful consolidations in so many industries over the last decade, I get the impression that they (the FTC) have simply thrown their hands up in the air and given up, or are busy drafting reports and memos; a "keep looking busy" kinda thing.
I dont want any online version! It is terrible Quickbook just stopping the regular Desktop version!!!
You can still purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus/Mac Plus/Accountant Plus. Any specific concern?
I bought the upgraded desktop Premiere Plus last year with an understanding that I wouldn't have to renew it for 2 years. $500/yr I'm ok with...as we are a small company and do use inventory or anything like that. I'm cancelling their payroll now because they left the tax module on and sent the tax payment for the last quarter, even though I had already paid state taxes. They refused to reimburse use the money and I've been fighting with the state to get our money back for 3 months! I'm in the process of switching back to ADP for less than QB is charging. Now, today I get a notice that its $949 to renew Premiere Plus! So they mislead me last year. You've got to be kidding me! $1,000 a year for what?
I used to be a fan...but quite honestly, no longer. Seems to me QB's doesn't care about their long time customers and its just an out and out money grab. I, for one, am going to look at other accounting software. It's ridiculous.
You can thank Ronald Reagan for that. There was a time that monopolies were not allowed in this country...
I love how you all respond with please call us and we'll help you but you have yet to address the price increase and forcing small businesses to pay a corporate price to use your software. See you are not the owner and you are not part of the corporation so all you can do is try to placate all of us and that is not good enough. WE want answers to WHY we are being charged so much. You all are money hungry and greedy. As if you don't have enough customers to make things work for everyone. I am so disappointed. I too will be looking for new software that is affordable for a two employee business!! How sad you have all fallen into the trap of GREED!!
You have QBD 2021 with a non subscription license, correct? Why do you need to upgrade? You can use it for good.
Yes, we I use the payroll feature and am charged annually to have that feature for two companies that are less than 5 employees. Both companies have to pay the annual subscription fee plus the payroll fee. Every time I open QB Desktop it says I need to upgrade as they will no longer continue to update payroll and or anything else. In other words, I can no longer use QBD 2021. Their payroll features on tax forms is essential unless we all want to do it long hand. I for one do not but the idea of paying $2000 a year is ridiculous.
You may have 2 options:
1. Purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus to integrate with Enhanced Payroll. They will support QB Desktop 2024 + Enhanced Payroll until 2027.
2. Keep using QB Desktop 2021 + a stand alone payroll app after May 2024. You will register payroll expenses as JE in QB Desktop
