Buy now & saveI am currently using Quickbooks Desktop Premier NonProfit version and considering switching to Quickbooks Online or having someone host QB desktop so we can use it remotely. Does anyone have experience with this? Wondering the exact differences in desktop vs online. Reports or customization problems? If hosting, which companies are better/cheaper? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
Hi, @mlsandee1.
Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community forum. I can share with you some information about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and Online (QBO).
QBO and QBDT are two different platforms of QuickBooks. They may produce the same reports, but the fields and customization available may differ. You can check out these links to know more about the reports available on each subscription:
On the other hand, if you want to set up a multi-user network (hosting) so computers on your network can access your files, you can follow these steps (Your server computer should be the only computer with this feature on.).
Now, you can host your company files over your network. When you want to access your multi-user network, sign in as a user with admin rights on your server computer and workstations.
To know more about this feature, open these articles:
Regarding the QuickBooks subscription fees and pricing, you can also review each link below:
If you have any other questions about QuickBooks reports, subscription fees, and other features, please notify me by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!
If you are familiar with QBD, I don't recommend switching to QBO, unless you love to challenge yourself 8)

You may have 2 options for your needs:
1. Deploy a private cloud. You may combine LAN users and remote users accessing the same company file at the same time.

2. Put your license and company file(s) on an authorized QB cloud hosting.

I cant even cancel charges for services I dont want!
THIS IS A SIMPLE license ownership problem.
Now you suggest that I create a personal cloud! Seriously
