QuickBooks Pro 2017 wants an update...

All was fine. I got a reminder notification in the upper right (red exclamation). When I click on that, it tells me "Please click Restart Now to restart QuickBooks and install updates. I will click on that, QuickBooks closes, and restarts moments later. The red notification remains. I have tried everything including uninstall / reinstall. I am on QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017 Release R5P.

Also, since the first try at installing, it takes much longer than normal to open QuickBooks.

Click on "update"
Click "update now"
Beside "Get Updates" is a check box "Reset Update"
Check the box and run "Get Update"
You should get a popup screen that states your going to download the entire update again
Click OK, download the entire update and reboot computer

This seems to be a common problem. Try going into the update window and click RESET UPDATE then try again. You might have to reboot.

Probably correct. Reboot computer, not just restart QuickBooks

I had already tried rebooting. I think the reset on the update did the trick. Thanks to both of you!

Same problem here. Can confirm that clicking RESET UPDATE then rebooting computer works.
