App crashes when launching on iPad Air, works on three other iPad airs for business. Exchanged iPad airs at Apple Store. Same issue, even with a different Apple ID.

Apple says this is a QuickBooks problem after trying new Apple iPad brand new out of box and a replacement brand new out of box with different Apple IDs and up-to-date software. Need help, just bought all of these iPads for my business and can’t have three out of four working.

Assistance has arrived, @houstonhbocenter.

I'm here to help you launch your iPad air in QuickBooks Online.

Let's do some troubleshooting to figure out what's wrong. Let's delete the cache in your QuickBooks app and fix any strange behavior we've noticed while using it.

Here's how:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari.
  2. Tap Private, and then tap Done
  3. Go to https://qbo.intuit.com/.
  4. Once done, close and re-open your QuickBooks App.

Open a new window from the top menu when you're done. Follow these simple instructions:

  1. Go to the Window tab.
  2. Click Menu Items Open New Windows.
  3. Add a check on the box next to Menu Items Open New Windows.

If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to repair any broken components. Check out this article for more information about downloading and installing QuickBooks Online for iPad.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Have a great remainder of your day!

None of that has solved the issue of the app crashing upon startup.

Hello there, houstonhbocenter.

I can see how this issue hindered you from performing any tasks in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I’m here to help ensure you can continue running the online program on your device seamlessly.

When using QuickBooks mobile app via a browser, I suggest utilizing a supported one to get the best result. For more details, check the following:

  • iOS 11.1 or newer.
  • Safari browser with Private Mode Off to allow cookies which are required for QuickBooks Online.
  • Other browsers such as Chrome and Dolphin are not supported on iOS but may work.

If you get the same result, we’ll have to investigate where the issue is coming from. The process requires special handling such as account verification and screen-sharing session. I’m unable to perform them here in the Community for security reasons.

Thus, I recommend contacting our QBO Care Team because they have extra tools to help check why the app crashes. Once the permanent fix is available, our specialists guide you on how to apply them.

Here’s how to get the contact details:

  1. In your company, tap the Help icon in the upper right to open the support window.qbo contact.png
  2. Head to the Assistant tab and enter a brief description of your concern in the field box. For example, the iPad crashes when opening QBO.qbo contact.1.png
  3. Click the Talk to a human link to view the support options.
  4. Pick Chat to start a conversation or Callback to speak with an agent.qbo contact.2.png

You can browse this article to learn more about the support hours and types: QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, open your company in a browser. This way, you can track all your transactions and continue performing all accounting activities in the online program.

For additional resources, this link shows a list of supported browsers that QBO mobile app users can use: Access for mobile devices.

Also, this reference contains answers to frequently asked questions about the mobile app version. You’ll also see the list of features available in the program as well as instructions on how to run each one on your device.

Stay in touch if you still run into any roadblocks while using the mobile app or questions about QuickBooks. I’m only a few clicks away from help. Have a good one and stay safe.
