When I select the drop down box under the "Account" Column, it does not show my chart of accounts for me to choose the account I want to use.
Let's work together to ensure you can select an account for your deposit, @sbpapania.
There are times a browser is full of frequently accessed page resources causing websites, like QuickBooks Online (QBO), to act weirdly. And can be the reason why you're unable to see a list of accounts for a deposit under the ACCOUNT column.
To begin with, let's consider logging in to your QBO account using a private browser. To use a private or incognito browser, here's how:
If this works, it means you need to clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh and you're now able to choose an account to create a deposit. But if you get the same result while using a private browser, let's switch to different supported browsers instead.
I'm adding this article that'll guide you in working with your bank and credit card accounts so they always match with your statements: Reconcile an Account in QuickBooks Online.

When I click the drop down arrow - it states "See and Add more Categories" - it does not access my chart of accounts. I am a 15year user of QB. Desktop, Online Essentials, Online Plus. I did purchases a very basic package this time for my husband's business. It is totally different than any others I have worked on. I tried an upgrade to a more expensive package but it did not change and still would not show my chart of accounts in the drop down box for "Account". Quite frustrating to say the least.
I went incognito and nothing changed. Still wants me to See and Add more Categories. .
The only browser that works for me with Quickbooks is Google Chrome.
Good to have you back here, sbpapania.
I'm glad it works with Google Chrome. You may continue using Chrome when doing tasks in QuickBooks Online. Some users have been telling us that QBO works best on Chrome.
Also, you can find man resources about using QBO on our Help article page.
