Does it make ANY Sense to require a BATCH FILE that runs nightly to login?
It uses the QB API for the desktop.
We need a way for UNATTENDED ACCESS to the API to NOT Launch this dialog.
It is causing our batch file to hang!
And suggesting we have users log into a system account, design ONLY for the API.
So they can MANUALLY Login. NOT ONCE. NOT TWICE. But EVERY 2 weeks...
To avoid hanging.
We have software that has run like this for 5 years w/o fail. Suddenly, we are forced to login.
THIS SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP (for the API, in Unattended Mode).

You say this is not the impression you want. That you are trying to help keep our data safe. The reality is that for many small business owners they have someone else helping with their books and you are making it LESS SAFE because now the owner has to give them the password to their intuit account.
I wish you would stop reading from a script and see how many are truly frustrated by this and make it optional. Otherwise you risk losing a lot of customers. They will go elsewhere. Either to a non cloud based option or to a competitor. (why not Intuit doesn't care about my business and only about themselves and money)... let me try this other company if I am being forced into a cloud based anyway.

A) You can bypass the intuit login. B) You shouldn't be sharing any login credentials with anyone, ever. Each user should have their own profile or use a Quickbooks Accountant login. You have your own script that you won't stray from...

Please explain how a BATCH FILE, running the QB API for Desktop, in UnAttended Mode can BYPASS the login?
Of course a HUMAN can bypass this by SEEING IT, and CLICKING the [X]
(and we are warned that after some period, this will ultimately prevent access, like 30 or 60 days).
But you said I could bypass it, in REPLY to my CONTEXTUAL ENVIRONMENT that it is in a Batch File, and automated w/o human interaction.
Now I need you to Clarify HOW? (and if you can't, I kindly REQUEST you read/understand the question before responding, because I get enough of that from INTUIT)

I'm not sure why some replies look like direct replies while others go to the bottom of the discussion but, I was replying to CBS3601. Regardless, maybe we can talk about your issue. No need to type in all caps if that's cool, I'm just an other user sharing my experience. What kind of overnight batch operation are you completing? What leads you to believe the intuit login is stopping action from continuing? The reason I ask is because we do overnight reporting amongst other tasks, and the first problem we encountered was Windows User Account Control settings needed to be turned off. UAC being on should be the only hurdle a program would have to clear aside from making sure the PC is fully on (not sleep or hibernate). The Intuit login is by-passable by human means and by that logic, by coded means. However, you shouldn't have to bypass it for typical batch actions as it is only a request, not a security function for the data. I look forward to understanding more if that doesn't help.
I don't even have the X ! I purchased QB Desktop Pro to keep my data to myself. I do not want to log in to QB website and I DON'T want this pop up!
I TOTALLY agree! This requirement is so very invasive. Intuit has turned a wonderful, easy to use accounting software cumbersome. Combine this obnoxious mandatory intuit account sign on with an annual subscription requirement for forced on us newer versions and you now have total garbage where something good used to be.
Please DO share the name of this new software. I am so ready to jump the Intuit ship full of holes and sinking fast software. I will have all of my clients switch as well.

I'm not sure about other users, but in my Intuit.com login popups, there is no X to close the window. I only found out I could right-click the title bar of the window and close that way. Using this method tells me it will remind me again in 14 days.
If able, please share which software you switched to, done with QB too.

They are trying to force us desktop version users into a subscription. That sucks!
Some of us like all our stuff local not on the cloud.
QB has just lost my business. This move by QB is ill-informed.

We have terminated an employee, but apparently their relationship with Inuit, which was initiated via our company and our software, will remain with Intuit. This is appalling. I honestly don't know who this company thinks they are. If they didn't have something to gain, this feature would be optional. The fact that it is required means there's something in it for them.
We are a contractor meeting soon with Deltek + ComputerEase for our future needs. I've heard good things about them. I hope it works out. I'm okay with online access and logins when it's MY choice. I'm not okay with a desktop edition of software that REQUIRES this.
Sign me up for the lawsuit too. We PURCHASED this software. We OWN it and now they are forcing us to log in? BS! I refuse to do so. They are no longer selling desktop versions after 2021 so I will be searching for a new accounting software. 18 years I've been a loyal customer. Shows what Intuit thinks of us. Let's hit them where it hurts!!

If anyone finds a decent alternative please send me an email - [email address removed]. I really detest these folks now. My software just went from $200.00 every three years to $500.00 per year. That's an 800% Increase. 800%.
